Explore Chamarel Seven Coloured Earths, one of Mauritius main tourist attractions.
It is composed of sand dunes of various different colours (red, brown, violet, green, blue, purple and yellow). Intriguingly, when you mix the colours together, they’ll settle in distinct layers resulting in a colourful spectrum with each dot of sand rejoining its colour caste. You’ll even be tricked as the colours can appear like shadow sometimes. You can buy small test tubes filled with coloured earths at shops in the nearby area. Next, see the 83 meter high waterfall together with the amazing views of the greenery plants and trees.
Have a delicious snack or lunch at the geopark’s restaurant, MOKA’Z Chamarel. You’ll get to taste the authentic Café de Chamarel, locally grown and roasted in the same area. Great value for money.
